no subject
Yeah. That's... definitely a thing.]
Yuji?
[Nick looks a little beat up, but the bandages around his ribs and shoulders are safely hidden under his shirt, purposefully so he can look better off than he his.]
no subject
[He was hunkered down in some shadows until he sees Nick approach, and then he's delicately stepping out. He's... the size of a big dog. But not giant. Not yet.]
[His ears perk at his name, and he shakes himself. His eyes flash as he speaks.]
Yes. It's... uh. It's me.
no subject
[A lot better than when he was dealing with Lyall or Angela in their wolf forms. ...which brings up a good point.]
...dude. Does this mean your other self was a robot werewolf?
no subject
[Wow, he's still huffy, even as a giant robot dog. He hunkers down a little. If he had a tail, it would have tucked down.]
I don't know. But is now really the time for wondering that?
no subject
[Leave him alone, this is a little bit of a shock, okay. But that does shake him out of it enough that he leans down, slinging his good arm around the robot dog's neck in a brief hug.
Robot dog or not, that's still his partner, and he's relieved he's alive. And... probably uninjured.
How do you tell if a robot dog is injured? Right not the point.]
Did anyone see you change?
no subject
[Like how to change back, or how he's going to keep working, or...]
[Oh. A hug. He sort of butts his head up against his partner's chest, like a dog should. Since he doesn't exactly have arms to return the favor with.]
Only Ray. And he's... en route to the hospital. Some hospital. I couldn't follow.
no subject
[For once.
The head butting is oddly reassuring, and Nick doesn't let go, even though he probably should.]
...shit. Okay. We'll - let's go back to my apartment, all right? We can hide you there for now, and I'll - go check on Ray.
no subject
Right. I... that's the best option. Isn't it?
no subject
...yeah. At least until morning, and we can work on changing you back.
no subject
Right. Well... If anyone asks after me, I've been re-routed to another section of city.
no subject
I'll tell them. Come on, let's get you to my car. The less you're outside like this, the better.
no subject
[But he steps back, glancing over his shoulder.]
Let's go, then.
no subject
He pops open the trunk when he gets there to fold down the back seat, for once grateful that he doesn't have a sports car.]
Hop in.
no subject
[Then he sighs, and, hops in. The back of the car sags a little.]
no subject
Nick closes the door after him, then climbs into the car and starts towards their apartment.]
...you didn't get hurt, did you? Can you even get hurt like that?
no subject
I feel fine.
[SO MUCH MOPING.]
no subject
Can you, uh. Hear better like this?
no subject
[Wow, that was curt. He starts curling up a little more. He would rather be back there, tracking that ambulance, even if there's nothing to be done about it.]
It's the same.
no subject
He's in good hands. And I'll text you as soon as I see him.
no subject
[He huddles a little more. If he had more of a tail than the stump, it would have tucked up underneath him.]
... he has antennas now. They're going to notice that.
