Are there any, uh, specialized mechanics here? Engineers, maybe?
[No, Nick has no real idea what he's asking for, but he has to try to find someone to fix his friend. And speaking of helping a friend...]
Also, I've been told there's a doctor on staff here. Is that still true? There's something I need to discuss with you.
[And with that out of the way, Nick pauses for a moment, debating how to phrase what he needs to say next. Finally, he goes for vague, at least over these.]
Reese, man, you got a minute?

[Aw come on dude. Monroe would do it for you. Ok no he wouldn't but he'd at least play along.]
I'll take that as a yes. Maybe he's a hybrid or something.
Then maybe I'll just keep more of it in here. If it runs out, I'll have a few weeks worth saved up. Or maybe I should just start making it on my own. Straight to the source. You know my great uncle used to make beer. It wasn't Portland Micro brew quality but it got the job done. I might be able to remember some of the recipe [He trails off. Babbling again. And really off topic.]
[Audio]
[Or the video function on the journal, but Nick won't mention that. And yeah. He wouldn't, either, so shut up.]
Really fuel efficient, at least.
[And then Nick falls silent, listening to Monroe ramble. He's long since gotten used to that, ever since he realized that Monroe rambling at him was a sign that Monroe was getting comfortable around him.
It's happened enough that he's used to just waiting patiently for Monroe to realize how off topic he's getting. And this time, Nick doesn't even have a case he's trying to focus on.]
If you can make something even close to Oregon microbrews, I'll owe you forever.
[Audio]
[Ok fine. Neither of them will kill the other. Happy now? Actually they does make him feel better. Also no video function Nick! He doesn't want that.]
That mean you haven't seen a Prius decal on him?
[Oh so maybe he could have kept talking then. But he actually smiles at Nick]
Hey many with enough practice I can get there. And you'll be enlisted to test it all. But it has to turn out pretty well. I'm German we come with the natural ability to make good beer.
[That's totally how it works]
[Audio]
[Yes, actually, that makes Nick very happy. Although he didn't think that actually had to be said. No video function yet.
And that makes Nick laugh a bit.]
No, but he is Japanese, so you never know.
[He could have. Nick doesn't mind rambling, especially not when it isn't distracting him from something important.]
Uh-huh. Normally I'd say I don't mind testing things for you, but I'm not sure how many practice rounds of beer I can do.
[Audio]
[Well now there is no doubt. neither of them are going to kill the other one.
Yay he made Nick laugh. He likes that sound. And it sounds a little off thanks to his lacking auditory senses. Damn.]
I knew it man.
[Sure Nick thinks that now. Try saying it!]
What? It's not like I can make twenty different kinds in a single night. I'm not magic you know. Even hexenbiests don't have that quick of a turn around on their concoctions.
[Audio]
[Except that's very obviously a lie.
He makes Nick laugh a lot, man. Not so much lately, given the whole weird kidnapping and revolt thing, but still.]
I meant the taste. I can only handle so many strange tasting beers, man, and there's no way we'll get it perfect on the first try.
[Yeah, somehow it became 'we.' What?]
[Audio]
[Total sarcasm.
He'll try harder from now on.]
So you have that little faith in my ability to make something taste good?
[Okay then.]
[Audio]
[Snark snark.
He doesn't have to try harder.]
Hey, I've had your cooking. I know it tastes great. That doesn't say anything to our ability to make good beer on the first try.
[Audio]
Our ability huh?
[Audio]
If you're planning on trying to brew beer, you better expect me to be there.
[Audio]
Alright alright. You can come up with the name.
[Audio]
You sure you want to trust me with that?

Taming of the Shrew Pilsner?
[Audio]
And we're set. I'm on my way up, by the way, I'll bring more alcohol.

It's a date]
