[A lot of really strange things have been happening to Nick lately, but he can safely say that somehow getting kidnapped on the walk from his aunt's trailer to his car, without actually seeing anyone or even being aware that he'd been knocked unconscious, was pretty much the last thing he was expecting.
So, of course, it's what apparently happened. At this point, Nick's pretty sure he should just stop not expecting things. As soon as he doesn't expect something, that's when it's going to happen.
He takes a quick stock of the situation - not exactly liking the look of the cell he's ended up in, but at least, for some reason, whoever captured him didn't take the duffelbag full of weapons he'd had with him. A peek in the bag says they're all there, along with his both his Glocks. And a try of the doorknob, which'd been half-hearted at best, because he really hadn't expected it to open, proves to be successful.
See? Never expect things.
His cellphone isn't getting any reception, so Nick shoulders his duffelbag and pulls his gun out from its holster before ducking out into the hallway. If he can manage to sneak his way to a place that gets reception, he can call for Monroe or Hank. Or, better yet, maybe he can just find a way out of here.]
[So, uh, nonhumans, let me know if you don't want Nick to be able to tell that your character isn't human? And also feel free to have any nonhumans be able to sense something strange or dangerous/predatory about Nick!]

[She relaxes and grins in appreciation when he puts the gun out of sight. She zooms around to pick up all the apples left, stands with them cradled in her arms, and nods at his question.]
I've been here a little over four months now.
[The next question makes her frown. She's never even thought about what Mr. Lordy Face is.]
I'm not sure. I've never met him in person.

[Maybe she doesn't know what he is. Holly hadn't known, after all, maybe this girl's one of the few who hasn't been raised with stories of Grimms.
He stands up as well, holding the apples he'd collected in one arm. He starts to respond to her comment, but then her response to his other question makes him frown.]
It's just one guy, behind this?
[Okay, that's really not good. Even the Lowen Games had been more than one.]
no subject
[Sure, she still senses something a little odd about him, but she's mostly forgotten about it. He seems nice.]
He has staff, but I don't think they really have too much to do with the capturing. They don't tell us much either though, so I can't be sure.
no subject
[He's kind of grateful for that, actually. It's a little bit novel, meeting a Wesen who isn't scared of him. Who isn't Monroe, anyway.]
Not surprising. People who like kidnapping other people aren't usually big on explanations. Do you know, how they do the capturing?
no subject
I have no idea. I just woke up one day in the bed.
[She still thinks the Core had something to do with it, but she's not going to mention that. He's not going to know what she's talking about, and it's just going to confuse him.]
no subject
Tell me about it. Especially when I didn't even know what they did until less than a year ago.
[But that's less encouraging, that she's been here for months and doesn't know how they managed it, either.]
Sounds familiar. How are they keeping people here?
no subject
[She's only half being serious, but she stills shuffles her legs in excitement.]
There is a big wall around the whole place. If you try to jump over it, you die. Or so I've heard. I've never actually tried it myself. People come back to life later, but they just show up in their rooms again.
no subject
[Okay, this kid is kind of adorable. There's no way Nick's leaving her here, now, although if she's been here for months, he's starting to think escaping won't be as uncomplicated as he thought.
And then what. No, really. What.]
Hold on. People die, but they just come back to life in their rooms? And you've seen this?
no subject
[And free cookies are the best way to prove innocence. Yup, they are a fullproof plan.]
No, but other people have told me that it happens. Other prisoners, not the staff, so I don't think they would lie about it.
no subject
[Such as Monroe and bagels. And Monroe and croissants. And the Eisbibers habit of giving him pie and other baked goods.]
Well, they might. Being held captive can make people do all kinds of things.
[Like gladiator style fighting.]
But you're right, they probably wouldn't lie about that.
no subject
[All this talk of baked goods is making Tahlia hungry. She moves all the apples except one into her left arm and starts munching away.]
It could, but most people here wouldn't do anything bad to each other. It is what Mr. Lordy Face does that you have to worry about.
no subject
[Except he probably is doomed, for the most part. But he won't say that, not to the cute Blutbad girl who doesn't know what he is.]
Most people?
[Yeah, he caught that. 'Most people wouldn't' still means some would. But that last bit does make him smile.]
Mister Lordy Face?
no subject
[The big grin on her face fades at the next part.]
Well, um, a kid killed a girl. I'm not sure about the details. I didn't know either of them that well. I only found out because the boy's punishment was announced over the journals.
[She's still hoping it was an accident or misunderstanding.]
That's what I call him. He calls himself Lord Deior. He's the guy who is behind all of this. Personally, I think my name for him suits him better.
no subject
Do you happen to remember the guy's name?
[And then he smiles at that.]
Yeah. Him. I think I like your name better.
no subject
[Her smile returns. Yay, someone likes her name!]
You're welcome to use it too. Everyone will know your cool, if you do.
no subject
Then he grins a little.]
I'll keep that in mind. I'm Nick, by the way.
